Staff

At Just Cats all of our receptionists, technicians, kennel attendants and office staff have received extensive training in customer service and are extremely dedicated to the well-being of your animals.

We strive to provide a pleasant and stimulating work environment for our staff. We are pleased and fortunate to have the services of many long-time staff members.

Our Doctor

Kathleen J. Huntsman, DVM
Dr. Kathy is a long time resident of Fredericksburg, having attended Maury, Walker-Grant, and James Monroe (1978). Dr. Kathy graduated Magna cum laude from Duke University in 1981 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech in 1988. Dr. Kathy established Just Cats Veterinary Clinic in January of 1996. She resides on her farm in Stafford County with a thoroughbred named Dodge the Bullet, a 10 year old Cavalier named Ollie and two cats adopted from the hospital. Pete was abandoned as a tiny infant and Napoleon, a manx, has his occasional “issues”. Her son, Alden, is in graduate school at the Medical College of Virginia. Emily, her daughter, attends the College of William & Mary. In her free time, Dr. Kathy enjoys sailing on both coasts, ACC sports, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Our Team

Samantha
Samantha has been with Just Cats since January 2005. Samantha came to us after graduating in 2004 from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she majored in Animal Science. In her free time, Samantha enjoys singing, swimming, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also loves taking walks around Fredericksburg with her friends and her longhaired miniature dachshund, Sunny.

Whitney, LVT
Whitney has been with Just Cats since April 2006. Whitney graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1993 with a degree in English and a minor in speech. Whitney had been working for Lockheed Martin for nearly 10 years when her love of working with animals led her to pursue a degree in veterinary technology through Northern Virginia Community College. Whitney became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2009. In her free time, Whitney and her husband enjoy outdoor sports activities with their dogs, Bones and Piper. Their family also includes two cats, Taihji and Coal.

Laura
Laura has been with Just Cats since October 2007. She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2000. Laura is also a Master Trainer at a local health club. In Laura’s spare time she enjoys working out and spending time outdoors.

Becky
Becky recently joined the Just Cats team in December 2011. She is originally from Mississippi, but has also spent time in Alabama. Becky and her fiance decided to try out the east coast and they have settled down in Virginia. Becky worked for an OBGYN practice in Alabama prior to joining the Just Cats team. She has two sons and three grandchildren that reside in Louisiana. Seeing as how Virginia is a new venue, Becky enjoys exploring what Virginia has to offer. She also spends time reading and playing with her two cats, Cali and Jack.
